Manifestations Are Magic (If You Work for Them)

There’s this joke I love:

A man prayed to God every single day to win the lottery. “Please, God, let me win. I need this. Just once, let me win the lottery!” Months passed, and he prayed with the same dedication.

Finally, God had enough and appeared before the man. “Look,” God said, “I can help you win the lottery. Of course I can. But bro… you’ve got to buy a ticket first!”

Funny, right? But also, painfully true.

Manifesting your dreams is just like that. Wishing, hoping, praying—it’s powerful. It sets your intentions, gives you focus, and fills you with positivity.

But here’s the kicker: manifestation isn’t magic. You have to take the first step. You have to buy the ticket.

For me, journalling has been that first step.

Every morning, I write down my goals and dreams. Big ones, small ones, even the ones that feel impossible. I write them as if they’re already happening—because that mindset shifts everything. It’s not just “I want to achieve this.” It’s “I am achieving this.”

It reminds me of something Jim Carrey once did. Before he became the global superstar we know today, he wrote himself a cheque for $10 million. He dated it five years into the future, believing one day it would become real. At the time, it was an impossible dream. But by the time the cheque’s date rolled around, Jim Carrey had earned exactly that amount for his role in Dumb and Dumber.

It’s the perfect example of manifesting your dreams and then putting in the work to achieve them.

Journalling isn’t just about writing wishes in a notebook and hoping the universe will do the rest. It’s a blueprint. Writing makes things clear. When I see my goals on paper, I can’t just leave them there. I start breaking them down. I start working toward them.

And let me tell you—things change.

I’ve manifested things I once thought were out of reach. But none of it happened by just writing it down and waiting.

I wrote. I published. I worked. I failed. I learned. And I kept going.

So here’s my takeaway for today: manifest your dreams. Write them down. Believe in them. But don’t stop there. Take the first step, then the next. Buy that ticket.

Because the universe is listening—but it needs you to show up first.
