LOST IN DREAMS

Eleanor Roosevelt said “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”. Well I totally dig that. I mean I have been a true supporter of the philosophy that says, dreamers achieve and that those who want to triumph have to first dream big.

Even as a child dreams were my refuge, a place where things happened my way. I was the director, producer, actor, and editor of these large scale productions. I could be a princess one day with handsome and rich princes vying for my hand and an Oscar winning super star the next. I was answerable to no one but myself and life became this glamorous beautiful fantastic place where I wanted to go to each day (night).

My dreams had no foothold in reality but then they wouldn't have been dreams if they did. Dreams and fantasies are much needed nourishment for the human brain like food for the body. Many a dream has been visualized with eyes shut and fulfilled with eyes open. Many have wished and dreamt and passionately hungered for something that was unbelievably out of their reach. But many of these ardent dreamers have gone on to accomplish their dreams and fulfil their prophecies.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Dare to live the life you have dreamed for yourself. Go forward and make your dreams come true.” The hardest part about dreaming is waking up and making their dreams come true. People who can do that become world changers following a path no one has ever tried before. They carve a life of their own and like their dreams are producers and directors of their lives.

But then there are always those like me who dream but the moment they open their eyes in the morning forget the world they were in when their eyes were shut and in doing that they lose sight of their goals and aims. They forget that dreaming is the first step towards attaining their destiny. Integrating those dreams into our daily lives is the first step towards the ultimate dream…of fulfilling the dreams we have seen each night never ever believing that we could one day be living those dreams.

I see thousands of people dreaming and then doing it. I see them on television, on the roads, in the big swanky buildings, in their small little worlds living the life they had dreamt of. Believing in their abilities and their potential for greatness they have stepped out of their comfort zones to achieve. The courage to fulfill a dream needs passion and an obsession which most of us don’t have.

And that’s where the difference lies…they dream, they do…while I dream too I remain lost…lost in my dreams …in a world which may always remain that…a dream.

  1. Sometimes the most simple truths are the very basis of life and how it carries on. We all indulge in dreaming. These are not just a way to evolve but also an anytime getaway. I believe in both the ends.

Your article is so very well composed. Very crisp and well well articulated.

    1. Thank you Subhash. Only a handful,a passionate few go on to fulfil their dreams. They are an inspiration to all those who dare to dream big but never wake up and try and achieve what they had dreamt of.

  2. "all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves."
